About Us

At Yew Tree Nursing Home we provide specialised care for our Residents; enabling them to retain control in caring for themselves and their families at a time when their previously maintained physical health is no longer responsive to curative treatment.

Our aim is to help our Residents achieve and maintain their maximum potential, physically, psychologically, socially and spiritually throughout the last stages of their lives.

Yew Tree Nursing Home is involved in the Gold Standards Framework in Care Homes End of Life Care Programme, which aims to improve the care and support of the terminally ill.

Yew Tree Nursing Home staff undertake in-house training in palliative care and work closely with GPs,  St. Wilfrid's Hospice, the Macmillan Nurses and Donald Wilson House to provide the ongoing care for our Residents.

A full assessment will be undertaken before admitting a resident to determine the home's ability to provide the care required, in both a medical and social sense, within our particular setting.
